FlowVisor can be pretty easily configured to create exactly a control plane port mirror (a "readonly" slice, in FV terms). Let's talk offline if you're interested in following up on this.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18067566615795504244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8354064333993052352.post-19208691775359042532010-06-18T13:36:18.680-04:002010-06-18T13:36:18.680-04:00I'd actually like to see both approaches imple...I'd actually like to see both approaches implemented. This would give you a view from both the controller and the switch. When you're debugging timing issues in particular, the view from the switch is probably more valuable, but both are necessary. The advantage of implementing this on the controller is that you can see data for all switches from one vantage point.Matt Davyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13723507370805976594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8354064333993052352.post-31257769759232441322010-06-18T13:12:21.867-04:002010-06-18T13:12:21.867-04:00Great post! I think we all suffer from a divergence of tools that we use for debugging on the workbench developing controllers/switch software and the tools that are used in live networks.

On this particular one -- is there a way to do this with a debug app on the controller, potentially mirroring the packets-under-investigation to the controller and then dumping those alongside theKyle Forsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14625077354706111567noreply@blogger.com
